Ode to My Mom

This post is dedicated to my Mom, aka Marmi. She has watched Bean grow through these last few months as much as she possibly can with living 10 hours away. 4 visits to NC and we have traveled to IN twice since her birth. Sami and I call her the baby whisperer. Half of Bean's wardrobe has been provided by her and many books and toys as well. She has been my ear when I need to vent or need advice. She is the best and we love her!!!! We really wish that my p's would move to NC. So, here is a picture show of Marmi and Bean over the last 6 months.
Bean, 6 hours old. Marmi was squealing the whole last half of the drive to Chapel Hill. She had been waiting many years for this day.
Thanksgiving. Bean is almost 2 months
Christmas. Note the red. Marmi knows how much Bean loves the fan.
6 month bday. Last day in IN.

Squash

Yesterday, I made some organic winter squash for Bean. It cost me $13, and I created 50 food cubes!! Holy squash. Today, her new food will be organic plain yogurt, then squash, then millet cereal. The fun never ends. Sami thinks I should teach baby food making/baby feeding classes. Does this mean I can quit my job???

Beautiful Gift

Mummi made Bean this amazing rag-doll, or Molla Maija, during her stay in NC. It is precious, beautiful, and took great knitting skill. I thought I was crafty, but this piece of art puts me to shame. I am sure she will be well loved.

100 Beach Photos

This past weekend we went to Emerald Isle and stayed On the beach. It was super fun and very beautiful. I miss it already.
My "30th" bday.
Hands down, one of my favorite recent pics of Bean.
Bean LOVED the baby pool. Splashing all day long.
Chilin on the beach
Bean did put her feet in and squealed.

Taggi Blanket

My current dream is to be a sew mama and make baby things, sell them on Etsy, and quit my job to be a SAHM (stay at home mom). I have made a couple of poor attempts at some shoes and a rattle. This taggi blanket actually came out very nice and was super easy.

Banananananannanas

So far we have really loved, avocado, sweet potaters, and these pics are of our current favorite...nanners. Bean ohhs and ahhs for this treat. So cute. Today, we have peas on the menu. Also, I have to say, as I imagined, I really love making her food myself. It is fun, I am confident it is very nutritious, and so much cheaper. For instance, I spend $6 on organic peas, steamed them, pureed them, and froze them to make 29 servings. A jar of organic baby food is $1.39!!!!!

Happy Sunday

Yes, it was Easter, but we just used it as an excuse to hang out with family and eat a big meal. Oh yeah, and we did get a chocolate bunny.
Lala and Bean
Bean now LOVES Bela. She mostly like to take buig chunks of fur and pull.
Mmmmm, my skillet tastes good.
I have a pretty bow.

Garden Goodies

I love NC in the spring! It is so beautiful and full of vibrant life and color. Despite the deer munching many of of new plants last year, many of them have come back full fold. The veggie garden is also doing very well.
